I didn’t begin writing until I had to retire from work and moved down to the South Island from Waiuku in the North Island (about 50 miles south-west of Auckland, on the Awhitu Peninsula – Auckland was coming out to swallow us up!)
I did, however, have a three-year fling with poetry as a teenager.
I joined the Linkwater Writer’s Group, and we published two anthologies of short stories, poetry and haiku.
For the last six years I have been working on a series of novels under the umbrella title of ‘The West Coast Connection’. The first of these, Windflax Beach, was published in August 2015.
Book 2, Offspring, was launched in February 2016 and Book 3, Indians and Appaloosas, in July. Book 4, Mausoleum is scheduled for publication in 2017.
