Member Profile

The Top of the South Branch of the New Zealand Society of Authors

Karen Heslop

Karen Heslop grew up in Auckland. She studied a Bachelor of Dentistry in Dunedin and then settled in Nelson at the top of the South Island and began dental practice. This is where she met and then married John, a contractor. They had three children, who have all now grown up.

Having always loved reading, Karen developed a desire to create and write, starting with short stories and poetry and eventually working her way to her first novel, The Terrible and Great Year of Molly Evans, which was published in 2017 on Amazon. Karen still works as a dentist. She enjoys walking, music, and being involved in the community of Richmond New Life Church.
