The Top of the South Branch of the New Zealand Society of Authors

Marie Higgs

Marie Higgs is a freelance writer of articles, short stories and poems, and her work has appeared in a variety of publications.

The first two novels in her ‘Islands’ trilogy have been published – Hear the Sea Sing in 2011, followed by And the Islands Cried  in 2014 – and she is currently working on the final book, Then the Rainbow Smiled. She belongs to two writers groups and a poetry group, and was on the committee that ran a very successful Writers Forum in Picton in 2014.

Marie loves to write stories that have a twist and intrigue people, wanting to make them read more of her work. Her main grumble when writing is that a ‘Mr Nobody’ frequents her study and insists on drinking her coffee!
