Susan Nonanda Smith
writing as Shelley Nonanda Harris

Susan writes under her birth name of Shelley Nonanda Harris. She began her life in 1966 with an ‘accidental’ adoption and grew up in a largely dysfunctional family. At the age of 16 an unusual chain of events reunited her with her past, and the healing began.

Susan is now an experienced teacher who also runs her own drama school. The stories in her ‘My Nanny’ collection are intended for those who find themselves in less-than-conventional families. The first of this series Invisible Elephants was published in 2016 and addresses issues faced by children living in dysfunctional families. It is the author’s hope that these stories will give readers the courage to rise above their circumstances.

Susan Nonanda Smith lives in Greymouth and can be contacted here
