Firooz Eftekhar Zadeh is an American Kiwi born in Iran. A retired educator from Colorado, he obtained his BS from Tehran University, MS from the University of Wyoming, and did his doctoral studies at the University of Northern Colorado and Denver University. He has been honored with numerous local, state and national titles including: ‘Outstanding Teacher’, ‘Exceptional Speaker’, ‘Profile of Commitment and Inspiration’, and ‘Excellence in Education’. He became a naturalized US citizen in 1980 and has been a Kiwi since 2005.

Firooz’ award-winning books are informative, entertaining and interesting. The three most popular ones are Islam Versus Terrorism (2002), The Journey: an Immigrant’s Story – from Tehran to Twin Lakes to Tasman Bay (2003), and English Down Under And Up Over: a Humorous Look at the English Language (2010).
The Power and the Peril of Oil was published in 2014 by CP Books of Nelson.

His latest book Sensitive Short Stories to Laugh, Learn and Feel Compassionate to the Suffering of Others was published in 2019.
