The Top of the South Branch
of the New Zealand Society of Authors

NOTICE!
NZSA Top of the South AGM

To be held 5-6 pm 4th June, 2025
Nelson Arts Festival Board Room
106 Collingwood Street, Nelson.

Please note: From 1 May 2025 this site is no longer being updated.
Our new website is under development, to be launched at our AGM.
For current events, refer to newsletters.
The Top of the South Branch of NZSA covers the area from the South Island's West Coast, through Golden Bay, Nelson, Marlborough Sounds and Blenheim.

Our small committee of volunteers relies on regional volunteers (no need to be a member of NZSA) to coordinate local events and gatherings. We are here to assist with publicity, financial support and advice as required.

Our Background:
The Top of the South is a branch of The New Zealand Society of Authors (NZSA) that has been in operation since 1934. NZSA is the principal representative for the professional interests of writers by:
  • protecting basic rights to freedom of expression,
  • working to improve income and conditions,
  • promoting Aotearoa New Zealand writing and literary culture
  • developing and creating a community for writers.

The Top of the South Committee was established in 2005 and is managed by a small group of dedicated local writers.
