MANUSCRIPT ASSESSMENT

DANA WENSLEY / MANUSCRIPT ASSESSMENT

Dana has over 20 years’ experience as a writer. She has worked as an assistant editor in London, a columnist in Canada, presented her short fiction at the prestigious Eden Mills Literary Festival in Canada, and she now writes, produces and interviews  for  the Top Writers Radio Show on Fresh FM.

Dana holds a postgraduate diploma in writing from Humber (Toronto), where she was mentored by New York Times notable book of the year author Helen Humphreys. From this experience she learned what she thinks is the golden rule of writing: “The silence between the words is as important as the words themselves”.

Dana differs from other editors in the way she approaches texts. She offers manuscript assessment services which involve a close reading of the work. Dana will provide a full written report of the work’s strengths and weaknesses, focusing on plot, characterisation, style, and language.

Dana also offers less intensive structural editing. She will examine overall flow, review style, and provide feedback on how to make the text have more impact with readers, including synopsis and 'back blurb' preparation.

Editing packages start at $150 and can be tailored to suit individual needs.

WENDY SCOTT / EDITORIAL REVIEWS

One of the first challenges a writer faces after releasing a book is obtaining reviews, and convincing readers to pick your book above others.

Award-winning author Wendy Scott offers Editorial Reviews that can be used on all promotional material, including the Editorial section of Amazon book pages, Goodreads, book blurbs and descriptions, and blogs.

Only books that earn the equivalent of 4-5* rating will gain an Editorial Review of 100-200 words. For books rated the equivalent of 3, 2 or 1*, a 100-200 word report will be provided summarising the story’s weaknesses.

Price: $199.
Discount for members of NZSA and RWNZ: $149.
Writing Workshops are also available http://www.wendyjscott.com/writing--publishing-workshops.html
