Annabel Schuler
Born in Malawi, Africa, Annabel has been a journalist and writer for many years and now lives in Nelson.
She has also worked in several academic roles including leading Rotorua’s Waiariki Journalism Programme; and facilitating online learning for undergraduate students of communication at the Southern Institute of Technology.
Her list of publications covers academic papers, conference presentations and a master’s thesis on the late Michael King’s writing and how this was influenced by his journalism career.
In later years Annabel has freelanced for magazines and honed her research skills. She has published a biography of a lesser known Nelson woman who became a ground breaker both as a journalist and as a mountaineer. The book is called Constance Barnicoat A Cool Head and a Sharp Pen.
