Chris Tait
Chris has been a lifelong reader and creator. Born in small-town Canterbury, she has explored many facets of creating and exhibiting in fibre and textiles, before adding writing to her repertoire.
A passion for education saw her training as a primary school teacher, and later as a teacher of the Deaf. This passion led her to study at the University of Canterbury, graduating in 2014 with an MFA in Creative Writing, Subsequent to completing her novel for this degree, she tutored Creative Writing at UC until moving to the top of the south in 2016. She now lives in Ngatimoti and has settled into making writing her focus. In both fields of her creative life, she worked in isolation before reaching out to other creators. She enjoys the opportunities and stimulation that come from this connection while continuing to explore the development of expression as an individual. A fascination with notions of identity is a repeated theme in her creative work. |
