Shannon Savvas
A New Zealander by birth and inclination, a nurse by profession, Shannon now divides her heart and life between Cyprus, England and New Zealand. A nomad since childhood, she wonders still where she belongs and who she is.
Shannon was nominated for the Pushcart Prize in 2020. She was the winner of the Fish Short Story Prize (2022), Cuirt New Writing Prize (2019), Reflex Fiction (2017), and Flash500 (2019). She has taken second place in the Henshaw Press Short Story Prize (2021) and Flash500 SS (2019); and been shortlisted in the Cuirt New Writing Prize (2021), The Bridport Prize (2021), Kilmore Literary Festival Write by the Sea (2021), Allingham Festival (2021), Bath Flash Fiction & Short Story (2020), Literary Taxidermy (2020), The Impress Novel Prize(2020), and Bray Literary Festival(2020). She was longlisted in the Sligo Cairde Short Story Award (2021), Flash500(2021), and the Commonwealth Prize (2019/2020). There have been various other long- and shortlistings since 2017.
